MDA Leading Business Trip to China
Jackson, Miss. (July 27, 2012) – The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) invites state business representatives to participate in Inter Airport China, China’s premier airport industry exhibition, to be held September 26-28, 2012, in Beijing, China. The event will connect Mississippi businesses whose products and services are used in airport, airport renovations and airport construction with business opportunities in China.
During the exhibition, participating Mississippi businesses will meet one-on-one with qualified buyers regarding their products and services. In addition, qualified small businesses are offered financial incentives through the U.S. Small Business Administration-funded Mississippi State Trade Export Promotion (STEP) grant program to help offset certain costs related to the trip.
“In the next three years alone, China plans to add 55 new airports throughout the country, and within the next ten years, China plans to add 100 new airports,” said Liz Cleveland, MDA Trade Bureau manager. “This exhibition is a wonderful, cost-effective opportunity for Mississippi businesses with products and services used in airports and airport construction that are interested in expanding trade into China.”
The STEP program provides qualified participating businesses with financial and administrative support in regards to the event. The STEP program reimburses eligible businesses up to 50 percent of their travel costs, including airfare and lodging, and provides translation services at no cost. Additional services include:
- Scheduled appointments with prospective, qualified buyers
- Free booth space
- Logistical support, including local transportation assistance and a customized itinerary
Space is limited to four Mississippi businesses and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to register is August 16. For more information or to obtain a registration form, please contact Regina Todd at 601.359.5756 or e-mail email@example.com.
