Legislative Update

The following legislation, enacted during the 2018 Legislative Session, revises MDA’s powers and duties:

HB 393, signed by the Governor on March 15, 2018, revises the powers and duties of the State Inland Port Authority.

HB 1607, signed by the Governor on April 11, 2018, revises the powers and duties of MDA to assist the Department of Environmental Quality with economic viability assessments.

HB 1649, signed by the Governor on April 13, 2018, authorizes the issuance of general obligation bonds.

SB 2479, signed by the Governor on March 27, 2018, reduces the eligible amount for a fee-in-lieu from $100,000,000 to $60,000,000.

SB 2773, signed by the Governor on April 13, 2018, appropriates money to MDA for the National Diabetes and Obesity Research Center contract with the Cleveland Clinic, the Greenville Airport, and the Air Service Development Act.
