The Development Infrastructure (DIP) Grant Program provides grant assistance to counties or municipalities to finance infrastructure projects to support business locations and expansions in Mississippi. Funding from this program can be used by municipalities and counties to assist with the location or expansion of businesses. Usage of the funds must be directly related to the construction, renovation or expansion of industry.

Eligible Projects

  • Building purchases, construction or rehabilitation
  • Water improvements
  • Sewer improvements
  • Drainage improvements
  • Transportation facilities directly affecting the site, including roads, bridges, rail lines or pipelines
  • Land improvements
  • Marine structures
  • Energy facilities for power generation or distribution
  • Any other project approved by Mississippi Development Authority

Job creation is the goal of the Development Infrastructure Grant Program. Use of DIP funds must be directly related to business location or expansion projects. Typical industries that are eligible under this program include:

  • Manufacturing and processing
  • Large distribution facility
  • Service support to agriculture, aquaculture and mariculture
  • Service support to manufacturing and processing
  • Telecommunications and data processing
  • Corporate headquarters and operations centers
  • Research and development
  • Tourism

Municipalities and counties must apply on behalf of a new or expanded industry based on the public infrastructure needs of the project.
