Chance McDavid is director of the Mississippi Development Authority’s Asset Development Division. Previously, he served as senior extension associate with the Southern Rural Development Center and Department of Agricultural Economics at Mississippi State University.
McDavid has nearly 15 years of experience in community and economic development, serving at the local, regional and state levels with university extension and outreach as well as serving as vice president and chief operations officer for the Greater Starkville Development Partnership.
McDavid has provided technical assistance in community development to chambers of commerce, Main Street and economic development organizations, state agencies, and nonprofits across the state.
A graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Mississippi State University, and the University of Southern Mississippi, McDavid holds a certificate in nonprofit management from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and is a certified professional community and economic developer.
He is a graduate of Leadership Mississippi, and a Zacharias Distinguished Staff Award winner at MSU.
A resident of Clinton, Chance and his wife, Kayla, are the parents of three boys.
