Mississippi Recognized with Eighth Consecutive Shovel Award

Jackson, Mississippi — June 14, 2018 — Mississippi has once again been recognized by Area Development magazine with a 2018 Silver Shovel Award. The award signifies the state’s 2017 economic development successes. This is the eighth consecutive year the publication has awarded the state with a Shovel Award.

“To be presented with another Shovel Award by Area Development magazine is a strong testament to Mississippi’s supportive business environment, skilled workforce and dedicated team of economic development professionals who work relentlessly to bring jobs and investment to the people of our state,” Governor Phil Bryant said.
