MDA allocated $16 million for areas determined to have the greatest number of foreclosed and abandoned houses within the City of Jackson. The program provides housing assistance to individuals and families whose incomes do not exceed 50 percent of the area median income. Program funds will be used to implement the following NSP eligible activities: Establish financing mechanisms, Purchase and rehabilitate, Demolish blighted structures, Redevelop demolished or vacant properties.
MDA used a competitive process to select five non-profit organizations to administer this program. These organizations will implement this program in North Jackson, West Jackson, Midtown, Farish Historic Neighborhood, and Alta Woods. Click here for Jackson Housing Program neighborhood descriptions.
