State Receives HUD Funds to Implement Home Program
More than $15 million has been allocated to the State of Mississippi by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to implement the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME Program). The HOME Program is a federally-funded grant program designed to strengthen partnerships between public and private agencies to provide affordable housing within local communities. The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) administers the funds for the state and oversees the grant application and selection process.
The Mississippi Development Authority has seven regional offices across the state that work to deliver programs and services to local communities, businesses and economic developers. These regional offices work closely with local economic development organizations, local elected officials, main street programs and chambers of commerce for maximum effectiveness.
These awards showcase Mississippi communities that have creatively utilized funds to improve the quality of life for businesses and individuals in our state. Funds are provided through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) and other programs administered through MDA’s Community Services Division. view recent award photos >>
