Homeowner Rehabilitation/Reconstruction Grants

The Home Investment Partnerships Grant Program (HOME) for Homeowner Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Projects is a grant program that is available to provide assistance to families that are reconstructing or making major repairs to a home. Funding from this program can be used by municipalities and counties to assist eligible homeowners in making repairs to their homes to correct deficiencies in existing homes, or reconstruct their home because of the state of disrepair.

Program Facts

Decent, safe, sanitary, and affordable housing is the goal of the Home Investment Partnerships Program (for Homeowner Rehabilitation/Reconstruction Projects). The Program is available to low income families as determined the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Municipalities and counties may apply on behalf of eligible families. Eligible families may then receive a grant from municipalities or counties for major repairs in the home to correct defects in plumbing, roofing, heating, insulation or other renovations. The Home Program (for Homeowner Rehabilitation/Reconstruction Projects) provides for a maximum grant amount per project that is determined by criteria established by HUD. The criterion includes the size of the family.
