Homebuyer Assistance

The Home Investment Partnerships Grant (HOME) Program for Homebuyer Assistance Projects provides assistance to credit worthy families that are purchasing a home. Funding from this program can be used by municipalities and counties, as well as Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs), to assist families.

Program Facts

Home ownership is the goal of the Home Investment Partnership Program (for Homebuyer Assistance Projects). The program is available to low income families as determined the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Municipalities, counties and CHDOs may apply on behalf of eligible families.  Eligible families may receive a grant from municipalities, counties and CHDOs for down payment assistance or to buy down the mortgage and eliminate high monthly payments. The HOME Program (for Homebuyer Assistance) maximum grant amount per municipality, county or CHDO is $250,000.
