Through the Functions/Activities under its SEP Plan, the State of Mississippi seeks to: a) promote efficient utilization of energy throughout its various consumption sectors; b) encourage the use and development of renewable energy resources and alternative transportation fuels; c) ensure that the State's energy consumers utilize energy in its more efficient forms; d) provide consumers with the knowledge, technical expertise, skills, and resources to use both conventional and alternative energy fuels more effectively; e) promote immediate, long-range, and lasting benefits through efficient utilization of its available energy resources; f) address issues of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, the Climate Change Action Plan, the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, the Domestic Natural Gas and Oil Initiative and other Federal and State initiatives, as applicable; g) fully utilize our natural and energy resources to create business and economic development opportunities.
