To kick off October as Energy Awareness Month, the Mississippi Development Authority’s (MDA) Energy Division hosted its annual Renewable Energy Day today at the Agricultural and Forestry Museum in Jackson. The event, which targeted area schoolchildren grades 1st through 8th, promoted a greater awareness of energy sources and demonstrates how energy can be used more efficiently and effectively. |

MDA Joins EPA Campaign Encouraging Americans to Fight Global Warming

The Mississippi Development Authority's (MDA) Energy Division today announced that they have joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) "Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR" campaign to encourage Mississippians to reduce energy use in their homes. The program coincides with October as Energy Awareness Month. |

An estimated 3,000 journalists are expected to converge on Oxford, Mississippi this week for the first 2008 Presidential Debate. To assist media with resources for broadcasts and articles pertaining to the state, the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) has created a Web site containing helpful information, downloads and links. Media and journalists can access the site at www.msdebate08.org. |
