Prospect Preparedness Program

Regional Map of MississippiThe Mississippi Development Authority, through its Regional Offices, offers to county and municipal development organizations a prospect preparedness program. If you are interested in the program, select the MDA Regional Office closest to you.

The MDA Team will work with the local development organization in identifying a prospect readiness team. The MDA staff will meet with the local team and go over the do's and don'ts of dealing with a prospective company. Then, MDA will send the organization a Request For Proposal (RFP) or Request For Information (RFI) for a specific type of prospective industry.

A mock prospect visit will then be scheduled. The actual mock visit will be conducted by the MDA Team. After the mock visit the MDA Team will sit down with participants and have a constructive discussion on the positives and negatives of the visit.

The whole objective of the 'How To' process is to give a municipal or county development organization practical experience in dealing with prospective companies in a live venue. Just like the coach says, "you have to practice, practice, practice to prepare for game day."
