Homeowner Rehabilitation/Reconstruction Grants

Homeowner Rehabilitation/Reconstruction grants are made to units of local government to assist homeowners in making repairs to their homes to correct deficiencies in electrical wiring, plumbing, heating, roofing and foundation.  If a house contains all five (5) major deficiencies, then reconstruction of the house is necessary.  These corrections provide the homeowner with decent, safe, sanitary, and affordable housing.

The State takes applications for Homeowner Rehabilitation for the rehabilitation of single family owner-occupied housing. HOME funds are distributed statewide to eligible local units of government using a competitive selection process. Applications are rated and points are assigned to each rating criterion based on data provided in the application and consistent with the needs identified in the Consolidated Plan.

Grant Size- The maximum grant size is the amount to rehabilitate up to five (5) homes according to HUD's maximum allowable amount per home plus administrative costs.
